Welch, Spring & Co., Forestville, Conn., "Gale Drop Calendar Model No. 2" wall clock, case grained to simulate rosewood, turned wooden bezel, door with reverse painted tablet, and complex molded base, paper dial on metal pan, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven brass movement with Daniel J. Gale's patent perpetual calendar this clock is in very good original condition. The case retains the original faux rosewood finish with minor scuffs and nicks. The original papered dial has some fading and discoloration and the original pendulum bob has some minor tarnish. The reverse painted tablet is original and in good condition The calendar mechanism is the 1877 patent, which was produced from 1874 to 1879. The dial is the 1871 patent.
