Marti & Cie, Paris, mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement with visible Brocot escapement in an incised black slate case with red marble insets and molding, engraved sunk dial with black slate chapter ring with Roman numerals. the case has very few discernible chips along the edges. Black slate has started to show some cloudy patches. Red pallet jewels in escapement of signed Marti movement. Thick beveled glass is fine. Hands are original. The clock ticks and strikes, but was not tested long term.
