Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Birge, Mallory & Co., Bristol, Conn., 8 day, time and strike, weight brass movement column & carved crest shelf clock, c1840; (2) Riley Whiting, Winchester, Conn., 8 day, time and strike, weight wood movement column & cornice shelf clock, c1830 (1) Mahogany veneered case in an old finish has scattered loss on the base. Some veneer loss on the columns and the small top extension to the right column is missing. The right chimney has some damage at the groove. The feet are missing. Original painted dial has paint loss. Both tablets are replacements. Minute hand is a replacement. Dark label inside; (2) Refinished mahogany veneered case in nice condition. Original painted dial in very nice condition. Original mirror. Original bottom glass has original gilt borders, but a print looks to have been placed in the space between the borders that was most likely reverse painted. Seconds hand is missing. Clean label inside. Overall a very nice clock.
