Reproduction dwarf tall or Grandmother clock, 8 day, weight driven brass timepiece (only) movement in a pine case with rocking ship dial signed Elmer Stennes the case retains its original finish with a repair to fill in the gap at the mitered foot corners caused most likely from shrinkage. The authentic E. Stennes dial is probably a later addition and has a couple of areas of lifting paint and small loss at 8 o'clock. The case style is not typical of Stennes and has spurious marks intended to make it look like his work. Neither is the movement typical of Stennes as it is the Seth Thomas No. 1 extra movement as he generally used spring driven, old E. Howard or Vienna movements to power his clocks. Ht 50"
