(1) The solid oak case appears to have been refinished some time ago. The time and strike movement is very unusual for a gallery clock but appears to be original to the case. The hands and door glass are both original. The original painted dial, signed Seth Thomas and also bearing the name "Waterbury" has flaking issues around the numerals 5 and 6; (2) The darkly stained case has very little, if any, finish remaining. The movement is very similar to that used in the number 11 and 12 hanging regulators, except with a short (12 inch) pendulum length, The painted dial has been covered over with a finish and the dial shows some discoloration. The hands appear to be original. The movement is signed. The door glass is original. There are two posts on the case back above the movement that suggest a wired connection to the movement.
