Unknown, Conn. 30 hour, time and strike, weight wood movement pillar & scroll shelf clock now with label of Orten, Preston & Co., Farmington, CT. Refinished mahogany and mahogany veneered case has veneer repairs at the scrolls and the door. The feet and skirt are later replacements. The case has a proper movement and dial, but the backboard has the label of Orten, Preston & Co., but was fitted into this case from a later clock as that firm worked too late to make pillar & scroll clocks. Tablet and finials are proper style replacements. In spite of problems, it presents well.
