(1) Refinished mahogany and gilt frame case has loss to the gilding and spotty gold painted to cover defects. One of the rope moldings is missing on the bottom door left side. Tablets are not original. Original sheet metal dial has scattered paint loss. Dial is attached to the head with three L-turns. One of the sidearms has a couple diamonds missing and a repair. Brass movement based on a design by A. Willard, Jr., is attached to the case with through bolts. Original bell and mounting stand. Original hour and minute hands. Alarm setting hand is brass, but maybe original. The lever on the movement front plate to activate the alarm is missing; (2) Mahogany and gilt frame case has loss to the gilding on the throat frame and the bottom bracket. Both tablets are replaced. Original dial looks to have had the numbers relined. Period hands. The bezel has been shifted from its original position.
