The lower tablet of J. C. Brown, is a restoration. This clock is otherwise in very good to excellent original condition. The label inside the case has turned dark, and has some flaking near the gong, but is still fully legible.. The original dial has some scrapes and some discoloration in the center; dial signature is still good. Decorated dial tablet is original. The movement is most likely from Brewster and Ingrahams -- see ribbed plate showing below the dial. A sister to this clock offered at Skinners on 4-25-15 sold for $1,353.
