Waltham Clock Co., Waltham, Mass., banjo wall clock in off-white painted case stamped "1816", arabic numeral dial signed "Waltham", brass side ornaments flanking the reverse-painted glasses, the waist glass with eagle perched on a shield and the lower with a War of 1812 scene showing a British and American ship in battle, all on an off-white and green carved and painted pedestal, eight day time only brass spring powered movement secured to the back of the dial, with lever escapement and marked "Waltham Watch Co./USA". Minor losses to paint on finial and case, head veneer on object right side split, original brass hardware with original lacquer, original glasses in good condition, movement starts when minimally wound, a rare Waltham model in very nice condition. Dial diameter is approximately 7in.
