Massachusetts, 8 day, weight brass movement Patent or banjo timepiece with alarm and bell on top, in an Empire style case with mahogany veneered front and wooden side arms. Case is stamped "85".

Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in nice condition in an old finish. The carved side arms have repairs. Bottom door has a couple corner chips and a couple chips on the left edge. Original painted dial has some loss at the mounting pins and wear to the numbers. Dial is mounted to the case with three L-turns. Original hands and bell. Alarm weight is a reproduction. The Angle top Movement that is attached to the case using side tabs is similar in design to that made by A. Willard, Jr. Examples of this movement can be found in "Willard's Patent Timepieces" by Paul Foley, Pg. 145.
