France, marble and bronze, a large and monumental depiction of Joan of Arc (battle c1430) with axe in hand, ready to strike a male warrior with his shield held in defense. With a good bell strike movement w/ silk thread suspension (adjust above dial) silvered dial and moon hands. movement and retainer bezel have rotated in transit; can be turned /straightened on cleaning the movement. The outer bezel and glass cover for dial are absent, bare hinge showing at left. The mustard yellow mottled marble is in good condition, with only minor edge roughness. The bronze feet and waist moldings are all crisp and retain original dark brown patina. The statues themselves are magnificent, and one of the finest depictions we have seen; excellent facial and body detail, with small amount of wear through bronze patina. See detail photos.
