Howard & Davis, Boston, Mass., "Regulator No. 2" banjo clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement in a cherry case with reverse painted throat and lower tablets and painted metal dial
Anonymous (not verified)
24 October 2024
when the case was refinished, all of the original graining was removed, and the case stained medium cherry [originals were finished as imitation rosewood]. The dial was professionally repainted, and has the proper size numerals, but no maker was applied. The #2 movement is correct and signed "Howard & Davis". The pendulum is correct. Pendulum tie-down is absent. Tablet glass is old and wavy, however both have been professionally restored. This is the most difficult size to find. It could be improved by having the case properly re-grained.
