Caldwell, Philadelphia, (retailer) tall clock, 8 day, time, strike and chime on gong, three brass weight driven English movement with moon decorated pendulum in a Chippendale-style carved mahogany stained oak case with broken arch top and rope turned full columns flanking hood, three wooden finials, beveled glass on trunk door and rope turned quarter columns on trunk door and plinth. The brass dial has silvered chapter ring and center boss with engraving, chime silent selector, cast brass corner spandrels, moon phase and second's bit. the case retains its original finish. The left column on hood needs to be secured. The English movement is possibly manufactured by Elliot. The silvering on the chapter ring and center boss are worn and the moon phase has been repainted. The movement needs service.
