James Pyott, 7 Jamaica Terrace, London, a good two day marine chronometer with original box, 11 jewel, free sprung fusee movement with Earnshaw's spring detent, the Z balance with Poole's auxiliary compensation, blued, helical spring, and diamond endstone, Roman numeral silvered dial with wind indicator, gold spade and poker hands, contained in a lacquered brass bowl with gimbals, and mounted in a rosewood and rosewood veneer box with brass furniture, and brass plaque engraved "Pyott No. 389", the box also with the label of James Murray, Watch Clock, and Chronometer Maker, Calcutta movement dirty, gummy and with much oil residue, plates with minor discoloration, some steel parts with spots of oxide, running, but long overdue for service, dial with minor spotting, hands good, bowl and gimbals with spotting and tarnish, box with significant losses to finish, top with checking and minor veneer lifting, one small section reglued, case hardware tarnished
