Reverse-painted tablet is a painted version of the original transfer decorated tablet, both lower and upper glass are re-painted, chestnut backboard has been re-glued, re-nailed and re-positioned. It is the original backboard but due to shrinkage and strain from the springs, has required repairs through the years. Base is undisturbed. Dial probably was cleaned and relined at some point but the signature appears to be undisturbed. Movement has no significant repairs or replacements. The spade hands are incorrect and the present minute hand has a very clever repair using an old watch hand soldered to the back.
