gilding restored, glasses good, dial, hands and mask very good, dial signature with minor losses, movement with staining, runs, and repeats correctly, with the striking set to quarters only strikes full grand sonnerie at third quarter. This clock bears the marks of three of the 19th century's finest makers and retailers of high quality carriage clocks, and documents business relationships between individual firms at the high end of the carriage clock trade. The name of Klaftenberger is well known as a retailer of fine clocks, and Henri Jacot is known as one of the best finishers. The "AB" inside the plates is believed to be that of Alfred Baveux, who is known to have supplied "blancs roulants" to Jacot for finishing.
