France, carriage clock, 8 day, time and strike counting the hours on a gong, spring driven movement with lever platform in an Anglaise case with fluted pilasters and and set with beveled glasses, gilt mask reading in part "Mappin & Webb Ltd. / 172 Regent St." surrounding a silvered dial with Arabic numerals, blued steel hands. polished brass case is bright and in very good condition. Two of the beveled glasses have very small chips in the corners. The upper portion of the silvered dial is very dark where the steel hands rested for a long time. Unsigned movement ticks and strikes.
