AD Mougin, Paris, mantel clock, 8 day, time and bell strike, spring-driven pendule de Paris movement with visible Brocot escapement in a black marble case with fluted red and yellow marble half columns flanking a beveled glass viewing window for the double-vial pendulum, the cream porcelain dial with Arabic numerals and matching marble surround mounted within a drum head form, the time displayed by blued steel hands. The black of the slate case has become foggy along the base and parts of the front. Only a couple of small edge chips on the case. The dial is excellent. A bit of rust on the minute hand. The escapement retains its pallet jewels. There is rust on the steel components of the pendulum. The nut holding the bell does not look correct. The signed movement ticks. The clock strikes sluggishly, so will need some attention. This clock is heavy and fragile if shipping is a consideration.
