England, unsigned, 8 day, time and strike, spring fusee movement mahogany bracket with brass inlay, side grills, feet and side handles, c1890. Mahogany veneered case in an old and possibly original finish. Case has an expansion crack on the right side and on the top along with a repair. Both sides have some veneer damage in the area of the brass grills. The seat the supports the movement looks to be of a later make. Original painted dial has a couple paint flecks and poor repairs to the chapter ring some of the numbers. The bell may be replaced as one usually finds a polished bell in these clocks.
