Mahogany case has an old finish has a small repair on the bottom left side. The bottom board and one glue block have been replaced. Original painted dial is in very nice condition for its age and is mounted to the case with two L-turns. Nicely made original hands. Both tablets are original which makes this example exceptional. Original lead weight. Period winding key. Finial is a replacement.

Unsigned, probably Massachusetts, 8 day, weight driven brass movement patent timepiece, with mahogany case and gilt, rope molded frames, cast brass side arms, cast brass bezel, and brass ball and spire finial, throat glass with green and gilt bordered lattice on a red ground above a red rising sun style ornament with gilt rays, and signed "Willard's Patent", the lower glass with matching border and depicting the battle between the USS Constitution and the HMS Guerriere, white painted roman numeral dial with steel barbed hands, and brass clad pendulum.
