The clock has an uncommon rectangular Chelsea movement. The nickel plated case has a lot of tarnish and is missing its glass. The dial is in good condition with a bit of silver loss in places. The movement ticks. Movement serial number 320921. Lightships or lightvessels were are used in waters that are unsuitable for lighthouses. The Lightship Overfalls (LV-118) was built in 1938 and was the last lightship constructed for the United States Lighthouse Service before the service became part of the United States Coast Guard. The ship is preserved in Lewes, Delaware as a museum ship.
