Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., monumental double sided ceiling mounted gallery clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement in a elaborately carved tambour shaped mahogany case with acanthus leaves, dental molding, small hemispherical ornaments surrounding dials and tapered, fluted raised moldings on sides and bottom of case. The two marble dials are both signed "E. HOWARD & CO. BOSTON". the case is in excellent original condition including finish with a chip at 7 on the non-winding dial side. Both dials, pendulum, weight and hands are original. The suspension spring is absent. The movement is signed. This is a beautiful example of one of the more elaborate and fancy hard-to-find hanging Howard gallery clocks.
