England, dwarf tall clock, 8 day, time and strike, weight driven five posted movement in an oyster wood veneered case with marquetry inlay on door and string inlay on sides of case and barley twist column flanking hood door. The brass dial has silvered chapter ring, brass corner spandrels and matted brass center with early serpentine hands. the case has an old finish. Each riser for the movement has two strips added, one on each side, to expand the surface to accommodate current seatboard configuration. The hinge blocks on the inside of case have been replaced. The dial has been professionally restored. There is an old label and note pasted to inside of backboard.
