Dent, London, a good two day marine chronometer with Dent's staple balance, 11 jewel, spotted fusee movement with Earnshaw's escapement, freesprung bimetallic staple balance with blued helical balance spring and diamond endstone, Roman numeral silvered dial with wind indicator, blued steel spade and poker hands, with lacquered brass bowl and gimbals, and contained in a three tier mahogany and mahogany veneer box with brass furniture, the front with round plaque marked "Dent 3043", the inside of the lid with E. dent & Co. label running, brass components with spotting and staining, strong whale oil odor, mainspring setup ratchet with two broken teeth, dial with minor spotting, hands good, bowl and gimbals with very minor spotting, box with minor marks and scratches, one heavier scratch on top, top also with minor split, small chip at escutcheon above plaque
