Welch, Spring & Co., Forestville, Conn., "Gerster V.P.", 8 day, time and strike spring brass movement shelf clock.
Anonymous (not verified)
24 October 2024
Walnut case in original finish. This case is unusual as these clocks were generally rosewood. Two buttons on the two front corner blocks are missing, The two rear balustrades on the case top are missing their ball finials. The center ball finial has been repaired. Original painted dial has some loss. Incorrect hands. One of the gears in the time train has a broken pivot and one on the strike side has an incorrect arbor too long to fit between the plates so they will need attention. The pendulum is a Welch, but not the typical glass center pendulum usually found on this model. Small piece of the label on the back.
