France, Empire portico clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven pendule de Paris movement in a polished black slate case on cast brass feet, the base and top with applied gilt rose ornaments, four Corinthian columns with gilt bases and capitals, the gilt bezel with repeating acanthus leaf design, gilt chapter ring with Roman numerals, cast dial center and gridiron pendulum both with floral designs, blued steel Breguet hands. There are some very small chips to the stone case along the edges and one slightly larger chip on the front center of the base. Original gilt surfaces are very good. The finish on the hands is slightly dulled from oxidation. The suspension block has been augmented to be adjustable. The unsigned movement strikes with a count wheel and bell.
