The iron front is in two pieces with a seam running along the left side behind the chapter ring. Visible brass parts have been cleaned and show fine scratches. Some light rust on iron and steel parts. Both wood winding drums have large cracks. Many fine construction details within the movement including: decorative nuts, turned steel linkages and supports, and a curlicue on the end of strike trip lever. This clock has an uncommon pivoted and curved rack with teeth on both sides. Unlike most clocks of this vintage, it also employs one counterweight within the strike train. Movement pillars have a slight flare with triangular cutout in the bottoms. Four bladed iron fly. Three hammers: one for hour strike, one for passing strike on the half hour, and one for the alarm. Sides and back are absent. The clock does not come with weights or a pendulum. This clock was sold by Ivoire Saint-Etienne on October 13th, 2012 as lot number 57.
