Two of the enamel panels have hairline cracks. The medallion on the fronton probably featured the fleur de lis, a symbol of the monarchy. The area has been filed off and smoothed, probably after the French Revolution when such symbols were politically dangerous. The lower fronton has a spot reserved for a single enamel panel, but it is now empty. The bell is signed "Dubois ". The movement has brass plates top and bottom and to support the arbors. The crutch has broken off and will need to be reattached. There is some light rust on the iron posts, arbors, and hands. The sprocket that drives the time train is loose on its arbor. No weights or pendulum are included. This clock was sold by Ivoire Saint-Etienne on October 13th, 2012 as lot number 5.
