(1) Mahogany and mahogany veneered case has a small repair and a piece missing on the door. Key escutcheon has been replaced. The top and base were replaced a long time ago and either are properly shaped. Original tablet has serious loss. Original painted dial has scattered loss in the center area and couple smaller spots. Original pewter hands with the hour hand having a repair. Clean label inside. (2) There is only a partial label, but according to a note inside that states the clock was made by Downs. Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has a repair to the top half round molding.The dial is period, but did not start life in this clock. The tablet is replaced. Original scrolls. Replaced feet and skirt. Modern finials. Original hands. The front plate of the movement is maple and is stamped "Warren Cole Wood Clock Repairing 22 Jan 1860 ". Mr. Cole may have replaced the oak front plate when he repaired the movement.
