Timothy Cheney, Hartford, Conn., tall clock, 30 hour, time and strike, weight driven wooden movement in a pine case with arched top with reeded columns flanking hood door over a tombstone door on trunk resting on a cove molded and block feet. The brass dial is laid on wood and has a silvered chapter ring, calendar aperture, seconds bit and cast brass spandrels with Timothy Cheney signature in boss on arch. the case has an old refinish and is associated with the movement. The hood has been reconstructed from some old and new elements. These Cheney movements are usually pull rope winding, but this one winds through the dial, perhaps original or an early conversion. The feet have been replaced and the finials are absent. The tin can weights are period. Includes one eagle finial that appears to be period, but is not shown in the photographs.
