Brass dial is in good condition. The use of brass borders on the front of the clock is a nice touch and not often seen. Very nicely made brass hand. The movement is mounted to the case with hand-wrought thumb screws. The back of the case has a wrought iron loop as well as two wall stand-offs spikes at the base. Tall suspension shroud, measuring 5.75 inches tall. Very heavy iron fan with four blades. Movement uprights have small feet. Nicely turned iron crown wheel arbor support. The crown wheel was cut with shallow teeth. The movement will need cleaning and proper cords installed to replace the old brass cable. There is some surface rust on the iron components. The door pins have been repaired and will need further attention. The large wheel that drives the single hand is located at the rear of the movement rather than directly behind the dial as is more typical. The clock employs an uncommon strike with a large curved rack pivoted on one end. The alarm mechanism with iron crown wheel is located in an unusual spot -- centrally behind the dial. The pendulum is a new replacement of the proper type.
