John Dewe, London, England, tall clock, 8 day, time and bell strike, weight driven movement in an ebonized and japanned pagoda top case with three finials resting on a base with a cutout skirt. The brass dial has seconds bit, calendar, silvered chapter ring, boss engraved "Tempus Fugit" flanked by two brass dolphin spandrels, corner spandrels with female heads, signed by maker below 6. the lacquered design is in good condition. The finials are older replacements. The dial is slightly darkened but in good condition. The weights (mismatched) and period pendulum (missing suspension unit) are replacements. Beautiful hands.
