Boileau a Paris, an early 19th century, half seconds beating gilt bronze portico clock, on floral medallion ornamented compressed ball feet, base molding decorated with palmette, anthemion and bellflower, the dado with mount having a central sunflower with mask, and flanking Grecian foliate ornament below the simple molded surbase, four columns with square plinths, laurel wreathed molded bases, and egg and dart capitals supporting the entablature, the frieze with floral medallions and cornice with waterleaf, palmette and bellflower, laurel wreath bezel with simple foliate inner ring, roman numeral white enamel dial with inner seconds chapter,signed "Boileau a Paris", blued steel Breguet style hands and central seconds hand, large two train movement with knife edge suspension and pin wheel escapement, counting the hours on a bell, and heavy bimetallic half seconds beating gridiron pendulum dirty, and with minor scratches and losses to gilding, gilt bead above dial with deformity, center medallion with touch of gold paint and glue residue, case top at rear left with gold paint and minor deformation, dial with filled chips at edge, 7:00, 9:00, hairline at 9:30, hands good, movement dirty, ticks and strikes, pendulum with minor oxide, inconsistencies in the assembly of the case and bezel and the cutout in the underside of the top to facilitate hanging the pendulum lead us to believe that the case, bezel and movement did not begin life together
