Moulton, Rochester, New Hampshire tall clock, 8 day, time and strike, brass weight driven movement in a New Hampshire cherry case with ebonized highlights, broken arch top with carved rosettes, brass finials and straight bracket feet, Roman numeral painted metal dial with seconds bit and calendar the case retains its original finish. The case compares favorably with the work of New Hampshire cabinetmaker David Young. The brass columns on hood are replaced (capitals may be original). The left side of the plinth has a spline from an old repair. There are two splits in arch on hood door. The finials are old replacements. The painted American dial has partial Spencer & Nolen label on rear. Very nice original hands. Fading on signature and numerals.
