the case retains its original finish with some flaking to the veneer. There are age splits on the upper left and right side of case. There is a chip out of lower left side of door. The suspension block has been raised in the back of case to accommodate a lengthened suspension spring. The pendulum rod is missing the tray for fine adjustment. The silvered dial has some minor wear. The weight needs an appropriate S-hook.

the case retains its original finish. There is a 3" x 5/8" strip of veneer missing of left front base and some minor veneer chipping. The front left foot is loose and needs to be reglued and the hood has some age splits. The dial has minor wear to some of numerals and some flaking below 2.

the clock is in good restored condition. Two finials are absent. The numerals on the dial have been restored. There is small chip on the rear trim on hood. The feet have been replaced and the hood door glass has been replaced with plexiglass The pendulum and the weights are period.
Whyte, Glasgow, Scotland gimballed marine mercury stick barometer with thermometer inset in midle of mahogany case
tubes intact in both mercury thermometer and barometer and readings seem to be somewhat accurate. The register in top should be cleaned.

the case has been refinished and is a much later period, at least 40 to 50 years newer than the movement. There is an age split in the base and the faceboard above door in hood and some minor damage to return molding on hood. The dial has minor tarnish. Both hands are replaced and not proper style. The weights and pendulum are reproductions of the proper type.

very good overall, flying pendulum arbor bent, clock will not retain tension on the mainspring until this is remedied, time train will tick with pressure on wheels
John Stewart, Auchterarder, Scotland, tall clock, 8 day, time and strike, weight driven movement in an mahogany veneer case with broken arch with brass rosettes, two full columns with brass capitals and bases flanking hood and Hepplewhite cutout bracket
the case has been refinished and there is a chip in veneer below left side of broken arch and near the trunk door escutcheon. There is veneer lifting below the trunk door. The pendulum is a replacement and the weights are period but mismatched. The bridge that holds the suspension on the pendulum is bent and will need to be straightened. The hands and finials are replacements.
