Shelf Anniversary Or 400-day

C.1890, German, Striking Year Clock, likely Jahresuhrenfabrik, now with another dome and base, serial No. 4758.

Condition: basically complete and anxious to run. Strikes a bit too fast because some one has reduced the size of the fan. Wheels and arbors are clean and rust free. Porcelain dial is perfect. The top trim is loose and is from another large 400 day clock and is not wide enough for this clock. See Horolovar 400 Day clock repair guide, 10th edition, Section 3, figure 1 for what the top piece should look like, reproduced below by courtesy of the Horolovar Co. We have seen several of these over the years, all with serial numbers in the 4000 range.

C.1915, French, Grivolas, "Pendule 400 Jours" in a brass and glass 4 glass case, serial number 3184-0, with matching number on disc pendulum.

Condition: There is some oxidation on the pendulum and case; much of the original gilding is intact [we'd suggest a solution cleaning rather than polishing]. Top edge shows a little marring, which can be filed/polished away. The porcelain dial is perfect and beveled glass on case is all good. Height 11 inches

2 400-1000 day clocks.

#1. "A.Schatz & Sons, Germany", different case style, very dirty, no dome that I have found yet, it is probably in another box. You release the pendulum like you do with an Atmos clock. I released it and to my amazement it runs. The dial is marked, "Schatz, 1000 Day, Made in Germany". 8 inches wide, 7.5 inches high. #2. 400 Day Kundo, Made in Germany. With a new dome, excellent dial, case is very dirty and hasn't been cleaned or polished in a coon's age. To my surprise this one also runs.

German 400 day disc pendulum clock.

The movement is signed, "Made in Germany", and "D.R.G.M.", which merely means German Empire. The case has never been polished and there is some sticky tape backing on the disc that will need to be removed. Stands 10.5 inches high, 12 inch with the dome. The suspension parts are there but will need to be reattached. Good clean dial, glass dome is dirty. Needs some cleaning, but minimum is taking into account the service needed.
