Shelf or Mantel Skeleton Alarm
C.1875, French, W. H. Tooke, Succ'r De F. L. Hausburg, Paris, mini skeleton timepiece with alarm.
Condition: this came from storage and we had to work to get the tape off the dome. Mov't is oily and dirty, but still ticking. Dial with a chip repair to rt winding hole; alarm set hand absent. Pendulum is original with matching number, and both the movement and the dial are signed as in the headline. The strike hammer is there, but the hammer for the alarm is missing [just a regular wire and brass disc], and the pull cord for the alarm needs re-newing. Old dome is perfect. Ht of frame = 7.5" with dome and base = 10"
C.1851, French, Pierret, Paris, 8-day skeleton timepiece with alarm with silk thread suspension made for the Great Exhibition in Hyde Park, London in 1851, under larger glass dome.
Condition: Brass frame movement in nice condition, but will need a cleaning. Original signed porcelain dial is perfect and the hands are original. A pull wind alarm movement with bell is mounted under the wood base. Dial, movement base and movement backplate are signed. Pendulum is a replacement. The larger mahogany base was made to fit the French dome. Ht. Of clock on black base 9", ht of dome+larger base 13.5"
