Refinished mahogany veneered case in nice condition. Original signed painted dial has inpainted areas that don't quite match the original color. Original bottom acid etched and cut glass tablet and bone knob. Period hands, slightly mismatched. Clean label with minor loss inside. Movement is signed. A nice example with handsome ripple.

Mahogany veneered case in an old finish has a chip on the base, small loss at the top door hinge, small damaged spot on the top back edge and some shrinkage cracks at the top door. Replaced hands. Original painted dial now has a paper dial glued over it and poorly aligned. Original acid etched and cut glass tablet.

Rosewood veneered case in nice condition in original finish. Original painted dial has age darkened a little with some minor loss at the winding arbors and mounting pins. Original hands, bone knob and tablet. Movement is signed. Slightly dark label inside.
E. C. Brewster, Bristol, Conn., Round Gothic shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day time and rack strike fusee movement in a mahogany veneered case.
The case retains some old, if not original, finish. The original painted dial is signed "E. C. Brewster, Bristol, Ct" and is in excellent condition. The minute hand is original, the hour hand is not. The movement is stamped with serial number 4070. The acid etched tablet appears original. The door lock is currently loose and needs to be fixed. A scarce very early fusee clock.

the wooden dial has some stains, and with some losses beyond numeral V, touched in with white paint. Hands original. The case has been refinished, rubbed and nicely polished to show the colorful mahogany grain. The etched & cut glass tablet is original, just thoroughly cleaned.. Nice label inside case. Overall a good example of an earlier beehive.

Mahogany veneered case in what looks to be a modern finish over an old and possibly original finish has some small chips on the bottom left side. Original painted wood dial has a partial hairline crack and some wear and stains. Replaced hands and tablet. Movement is signed and has original brass springs.

Refinished rosewood case has a small veneer repair on the base, some veneer damage in a couple places on the front curved molding. Original painted wood dial has some wear and attempted repairs to the minute markers. Minute hand is replaced. Original acid etched and cut tablet. Clean label inside.
J.C. Brown, Forestville Conn., miniature plain front "Beehive or Round Gothic" shelf clock, 30 hours, time, strike & alarm, c1850
these miniature plain fronts are actually much rarer than the mini ripple fronts. The mahogany veneered case is in excellent original condition including finish, but has a 1 1/2 spit in case near top rear. Original tablet in good condition. Spring driven movement stamped "J.C. BROWN, FORESTVILLE CONN. U.S.A.". Dial has original paint with wear around key holes and is signed J. C. Brown. The label has losses and there is good repair label on rear from Columbia, Penn. The hour hand is a replacement. Ht 15"

The case has been refinished at some time in the past. There is a veneer repair across the top of the case. The original dial pan has been repainted. The hands are replacements. The upper door glass appears to be original while the lower etched glass is a replacement.
