Shelf Electric Figural

United Electric Clock Company's animated clock, "F.D.R. The Man Of The Hour".

The dial is a bar scene with the bartender shaking a mixed drink. This is not an electric clock, spring movement, running very strong for 8 days. Paint beginning to flake in the back, one tiny hole in the thin metal, on his coat just below his right arm. Nautical clock with the ships wheel, anchor, posts to tie up the boat, and a small picture of a sail boat on the base. Metal case is 15.25 inches high.

C.1930, A. Schadow & Son, New York, NY, 30-hour mechanical timepiece, with electric lamps, bronze finish, white metal, and in very nice condition.

One of the leaves on the right light stem has been repaired and one is missing from the left light stem (only obvious on very close inspection). The clock was supplied by The E. Ingraham Co. and is marked on the back of the movement cover. The silvered brass dial and beveled front glass are perfect. The hands are original. This item retains its original finish and shows good care over the last 70 years. Cord is old, with a repair, and although lamps light, we would suggest re-newing the cord before regular use. Height 15.5 inches

French Electrolier, ca early 1900.

38 inches high, figure is 24 inches high. The metal figure is losing the gilt finish and will need to be redone or at least touched up in places. The electric lights are working and the cord is contemporary. An electrolier of this size should fetch $2000-$3000, if restored. See Ly-Ansonia, pages 140-144 for similar electroliers.

French 3 bulb, Electroliers, the style Ansonia copied to make their series of electroliers in 1910.

I would assume the metal rods can be bent in any direction, but I will let the next owner fix them. The statue alone is 15 1/2 inches high, would be 25 inches if bent straight up. It will have to be rewired. No breaks or damage to the statue or leaves on the light bulb holders. This would be a $1500 item if properly restored. The Ansonia Electroliers are selling for over $2000, French in unrestored condition should bring $800-$1000. See Ly-Ansonia, pages 140-144 for similar electroliers.
