Shelf or Mantel Novelty

Clocks- 4 (Four): Horolovar Company, Bronxville, New York, Charles Terwilliger, reproduction flying pendulum or "Ignatz "novelty clocks.

No. 1 has a small ding on the case corner. The wire bracket under the swing arm need a little attention. Ball is missing. No. 2 is in good condition as found condition. No. 3 is in good condition, but is missing the knob to set the hands, one of the decorative side rings and the ball. No. 4 is in good as found condition, but is missing the ball. The missing ball can be obtained from the clock suppliers or one could use a small ball fishing weight.

France, (Guilmet) industrial series "steam hammer", polished and patinated bronze case on a black slate base with polished feet, the hammer forming part of the complex pendulum, rising and falling, appearing to strike the anvil as the clock runs, Roman

surface dirty, polished surfaces retaining their original lacquer, with minor losses, patinated surfaces very good, with some minor staining, base with a few small chips, numeral 6 with a patch of verdigris, hands with bends, one small trim screw missing on back, ticks and strikes. An excellent, unrestored example of this desirable model. France, industrial series "Church Bell", gilt trimmed griotte marble base below stylized A shaped frames supporting the silver bell with oak headstock, all hardware in silvered or gilt finish, the bell front engraved "VAE. MIHI. SI. NON. EVANGELISAVERO"

very good, minor dings and scratches, minor tarnish on silver surfaces, gilt surfaces very good, with minor wear, left A frame support with small bulge from fastening screw, dial numerals with minor losses, hour hand replaced, ticks and strikes. The inscription on the front is from first Corinthians, ix 16, and translates "Woe unto me if I preach not the Gospel". E. N. Welch Mfg. Co., Forestville, Conn., "Briggs Rotary", 30 hour, spring driven, rotary pendulum novelty timepiece.

Painted wood base with some small wear spots. Original paper dial has age darkened in the center with surface abrasion and a little wear. Original hands and pendulum. Dome looks to be original. Paper covering on the back of the dial has a small chip.

Thwaites and Reed Limited. London, England Rolling Ball incline plane clock with an 8 day timepiece movement, dated 1974, and noted as no. 51 in a limited edition of 500.

The brass clock barrel is in nice condition and has a brass and silver dial inscribed "Thwaites & Reed, Clerkenwell". The incline frame is mahogany with a brass infrastructure to create the incline. The end of the clock barrel is inscribed with the manufacturer's name and location as well as the limited edition number. The movement will need adjustment as it does not go stationary on plane.
