Shelf or Mantel Figural Swinging Arm Mystery

The original paper dial has taken on a fairly uniform darker shade. The paper dial lists a patent date of 1878. The nickel cannister is somewhat tarnished, but in good condition. Some very small number have been inscribed on the back cover. The point an the end of the pendulum is absent. Both figures have good original patinated finishes. Standard enameled iron base is in good condition with gold paint within the recessed design. The movement appears to be correct, but is not signed. Occasionally, the trademark stamp is located on the less accessible front plate of the movement.

figure an unusually clean brown patination over the spelter casting. Very small losses in places. The sphere may have once had a colored finish, but now has a tarnished nickel plated surface. Hands and cast ornaments appear to be correct. Movement is signed by Ansonia Clock Co. and is also stamped "A 22 ".

patinated figure has some tiny oxidation blisters, missing section of spelter on the back of the figure, the hanger for the clock arm has been repaired at the hand, fine crack at the rear of elbow, gold paint has been applied to some of the high spots. The spheres have been repainted a nice opaque blue. Hour hand has been repaired. Signed movement ticks.
Gebruder Junghans, Schramberg, Germany, elephant model swinging clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven movement with compound pendulum held aloft by a patinated elephant figure on a molded wood base, the clock case with gilt and patinated surfaces, two
Elephant with intact patination and showing a bit of brass at the tusks. The wood base has a few minor scratches and a thin, old finish. The clock case has minor discoloration to surface and gilding. The dial has four fine hairline cracks and very nice hands. The movement is signed and the mainspring contained within a barrel.

The movement and dial are correctly signed, the white enamel dial is fine as is the glass crystal. The spelter figure and swinger have some losses to the patina and the turned ebonized wood base has been restored. The clock winds, ticks, and sets, but was not tested long term.

The case is in very good condition with some finish restoration. The enameled iron base shows no loss. The signed paper dial is in very good condition with areas of minor discoloration. The hands are original. The nickel and gilt movement case is in nice condition.

The case is in very good condition and still retains some bronze finish. The brass and gilt movement case is in nice condition. The paper dial has one small area of abrasion, otherwise is in excellent condition. The hands are original. The bezel glass is beveled.

dirty, base with minor losses to paint, figure with losses to patination, clock case and small sphere with losses to patination, gilt components with losses to surface, steel pendulum components with oxide, large sphere counter weight now glued to inside of bottom, movement dirty, will run, suspension repaired with stiff wire, will need to be replaced with proper material if it is to function, needs service and adjustment

The case is in very good condition with some original bronze finish. The movement case is also in very good condition. The original paper dial is in excellent condition. The hands are original. There is some paint loss to the enamelled base.
