Miniature eight-day shelf clock with strike on the hours.
The clock company founded by Elisha Niles Welch and known as the "E.N. Welch Clock Company" was located in Forestville, Connecticut around 1809 and became one of the largest manufacturers of shelf and wall clocks in the nation. This is one of their miniature shelf clocks with a case design that is known as an "O.G." because of the curve of the door framing around the glasses.
New Haven Clock Company 8-day "OG" mantle clock with alarm.
The New Haven Clock Company was founded by Chauncey Jerome around 1850 and produced some of the finest American clocks. This particular beauty was made around 1870 and is in the miniature style with an "OG" case including an eight-day movement with a strike on the hours and an alarm mechanism. The metal dial and lower door glass have been replaced over the years and are colorful with lots of eye appeal. The original label is retained inside the case. The eight-day brass movement has been professionally cleaned and serviced for perfect running order. Height: 18 in.

The Waterbury Clock Company produced some of the nicest miniature shelf clocks ever made. This eight-day mini-"OG" has a professionally recovered dial with the Waterbury emblem and an original paper label inside the case (see photo). The brass eight-day movement runs well and has been cleaned and serviced. It strikes the hours on a melodious coil gong. This is one of those sweet little 8-day clocks that retain many of their original features such as the reverse-painted tablet on the lower door glass...with some touch-ups.
Rare Ansonia Brass and Copper Company Miniature 8-Day OG Clock
Miniature 8 day Ansonia Brass and Copper Co. Mahogany Case. Pristine condition. CIRCA: 1860 SIZE: 18 1/2" x 11 3/4" x 4" MAKER: Ansonia Brass and Copper Co. Ansonia CT DESCRIPTION: 100% original with no alterations or changes. The original enamelled dial is untouched. Original label and signed movement is original to the case. Both glasses are original as are the hands and pendulum. The movement has been professionally rebuilt, it is a week duration with an hour chime which is very deep and mellow.
Seth Thomas Miniature Rosewood O.G. 100% Original
Seth Thomas miniature rosewood OG clock, shelf or wall clock. Mint 100% original, circa 1870 - 1900. Size: 14 1/2" long, 10 1/2" wide, 4" deep, original 6 3/4" zinc dial. Maker is Seth Thomas, Thomaston Conn. Condition: Mint, 100% original. The 30-hour movement runs for 2 1/2 days. The movement has been professionally rebuilt, all pivots resurfaced and polished, new bronze bushings, verge has been stoned and polished, 2 new main springs. The clock runs accurately and chimes each hour with a deep resonate sound. The rosewood case has its original finish.
E. N. Welch Miniature Rosewood OOG with Club-Foot Escape wheel
Miniature double O.G. or OOG clock by Elisha Niles Welch Manufacturing Company, Forestville, Conn. Mint rosewood case, time, hour strike with alarm. Circa Aug. 30, 1870 (date on the movement). Size: 18 1/2" tall, 11 1/2" wide, 4" deep, 6 1/4" original zinc dial. Condition is mint restored. The 30-hour with hour chime runs for 2 1/2 days. The movement has been completely rebuilt. All pivots have been resurfaced and polished, all new bronze bushings, 2 new main springs and the original club-foot escapewheel and verge are perfect.

The Case Has 4 Full Columns And Is Made Of Mahogany And Rosewood Solids And Veneers. The Movement Is A Standard 30-Hour Og Movement With Lead Wafer Weights (Not Original) And Strikes The Hours On A Gong. The Tablet Is Original And The Original Label Is In Good Condition. There Is A Small Piece Of The Upper Straight Veneer Missing. Height 25 1/4" X Width 16" X Depth 5"

The Label Is In Good Condition, The Printer Is Calhoun Printing Co. 66 State St, Hartford, Conn. The Dial Is Dirty And Chipped. The Tablet Depicts The "Capital At Albany, N.Y. The Case Is In Good Condition. Height 26" X Width 15 1/2" X Depth 4"
This Is An American OG In Somewhat Distressed Condition, Circa 1850'S.
The 30 Hour Weight Driven Movement Is Unsigned And There Is No Label Extant. The Original Dial Is Covered With A Paper Replacement. The Upper Glass Is A Replacement And Part Of The Original Reverse Painted Tablet Has Been Scraped Away To Show The Pendulum In Motion. The Rosewood Veneered Case, However, Is Excellent With Very Minor Chipping On The Lower Corners. Height 26" X Width 15 1/2" X Depth 4 1/2"
C.1850, F. C. Andrews, Bristol, Conn, Mini 3-weight OG with alarm.
Condition: the clock is in very good condition with restorations. Although it is subtle, the top and bottom OG molding have been out of the case and re-veneered with modern straight veneer that does not match the crotch on the sides, if the guy had replaced ALL of the veneer it might have been undetectable, but he left just enough of the old veneer on the ends of the moldings as evidence of his work. Has a good Andrews label, about 60%, enough to verify the maker. Tablet, dial and hands are original. Height 21 inches
