Wall Ogee
Silas B. Terry 30 hour ogee
"Silas B. Terry, Terryville, CT" 30 hour OG, miniature brass movement, type 2.5; plain but original wood dial. The old "Courthouse-St.Louis", painted on the glass, is not original to this case. 26 inch mahogany veneer has some small bruises but overall very good as 150 year old cases go. 95% of paper label, period weights and pendulum, coil gong.
Chauncey Jerome ogee clock
"Chauncey Jerome, Bristol, CT" 30 hour OG, signed brass movement 1.311, strikes hours on a coil gong. Very nice signed wood dial. Lower glass is excellent and signed "Wm. B. Fenn, Pat, Plymouth, Ct." Very nice full label, period weights and pendulum. 26 inch mahogany veneer case is near perfect, only a couple of tiny corner nicks. Overall an outstanding early clock.
William S. Johnson ogee clock
"William S. Johnson, New York". Totally original clock from the finish, to the wood dial, and the beautifully painted and frosted glass showing an ascending balloon. Correct old weights and pendulum. Label is about 70% there. 26 inch mahogany veneer case has no veneer problems or repairs. 30 hour ogee movement, strikes hours.
H. Welton & Co. oggee clock
"H. Welton & Co., Terry Ville, Conn". 30 hour ogee movement, type 4.5, lyre shaped, should strike a coil gong, which is missing. The base for the gong is there. About 80% of the old label is in place, good wood dial, colorful geometric glass. 26 inch mahogany veneer case, rough on the bottom edge and some of the corners are nicked. Never cleaned.
Seth Thomas "Round Band" beveled ogee clock, ca 1875.
8 day, gong strike, alarms on a brass bell. Full label, repainted zinc dial, great tablet (although broken) showing cats trying to catch a mouse. 17 inch walnut or mahogany veneer. One problem, if you want it to be, the dial is an old zinc repaint, but does not have the cutout for an alarm. There is an alarm in the base of this case. Not a collector clock, but sure is nice otherwise. Ly-Seth Thomas No.976.
Atkins & Porter, Bristol, Conn., ca 1840-1846. 30 hour ogee clock, brass movement signed.
brass movement signed. A real nice painted zinc dial, period hands, weights, and pendulum. Strikes a coil gong and running. Nice old label, about 95 % there. Both glasses puttied in place, possibly original, but if not, very old. 26 inch mahogany veneered case is overall very good. A little peeling around the door, stained to match other wood.
Henry C. Smith Ogee clock, ca 1840
"Henry C. Smith, Plymouth, Conn", per label on the backboard. 30 hour brass movement, strikes a coil gong, running. Old wood dial has been restored as has the lower glass. Both old glasses puttied in place. Smith made wood and brass movement clocks in Plymouth, CT from 1833-1845. Case and label are very good. 26 inch mahogany veneer case. Veneer on the door and outer edge of the case and on the sides of the case, but none on the OG section around the door. Period weights and pendulum.
Forrestville Mfg. Co., Bristol, Conn." Ca 1836.
Double OG", 2 door, beautiful 31 inch mahogany veneer case. If repairs were ever made to the veneer they left no tracks. 8 day, signed brass movement, strikes on a coil gong. Practically a full backboard label, wood dial is also signed by the maker. Very nice original glasses, the eagle glass has been rebacked, small cracks in the upper right corner. Period pendulum and weights. Doorknobs are original and latch correctly. There are some stretch marks on the old wood dial, but not bad for 150 winters of contracting and expanding.
Brewster & Ingrahams, Bristol, Conn. Miniature OG. Original tablet, dial, pendulum, and label.
30 hour movement, strikes on a coil gong. The movement is on mounting blocks, and is running. 17 inch mahogany veneer case about as good as you will find not to have been "restored". The trim around the door is inverted OG.
Seth Thomas "O.G.", ca 1863. 30 hour weight mantle clock, strikes a coil gong, and is running.
25 inch mahogany veneer case is very nice considering its age. Only 2-3 small nicks, covered with stain. The weights are not correct, glass is a replacement. There is a Plymouth Hollow label, over50% still on the backboard. Correct old metal dial was repainted. A very nice looking early clock. Ly-Seth Thomas No.978.
