no turtle, light spotting to brass in otherwise good condition, ticks. When present, the turtle floats in bowl and moves via magnetic attraction to the mechanism in the case below. (you put a half cup of water in the time "bowl". A plastic toy turtle with a little magnet glued in the base will do for the time indicator. Height 3 inches Diameter 6 1/4"
French, Early 20th Century, MYSTERIOUS timepiece, two gilt hands attached to a large glass dial. A Swiss watch movement in each hand, one geared to turn once an hour, the other designed to turn once in 12 hours. See detail fotos of movement and also
overall good original condition. A small nut that belongs on the center pivot has gotten lost, but easily replaced by a watchmaker. Also the movements are wound with a small male type square key through the end of each hand, and that key has gotten lost. Ht 25"
