Shelf or Mantel Ogee
German, 8 day, time and strike spring brass movement OG shelf clock. This is a German made copy of an American OG shelf clock.
Mahogany veneered and grain painted case in original finish has some damage on the bottom right corner and small loss on the left side back edge. The gilt molding is pretty much intact except for a small section on the cross piece that separates the glasses. The original painted dial is worn with scattered painted loss. There is also an outline of a dial on the back. Germanic scene tablet is original with some loss. Original hands.

Refinished mahogany veneered case with a ding on the lower right corner and a small chip on the door. Nice gilding on the case front as on many of these examples the gilt work is worn. Original hands. Original painted dial with some loss to the gilding and numbers. Tablet glass is old, but the painting is new. Dark, but readable label inside the case.

Mahogany veneered case in original finish with some small repairs, a couple chips on the case corners and small repair on the left side back edge. Original painted dial with minor loss at the mounting pins and in the center area. Original hands and tablet with a repair to the minute hand. Nice label inside the case. Ht 19Ó
Williams, Orton PrestonÕs & Co., Farmington, Conn., 8 days, weight driven, time & strike movement in a mahogany veneered OG case. ca 1843.
The case retains its original finish with minor veneer damage on the outer banding and the door frame. The painted wooden dial is in excellent condition. The hands are old but later replacements. The two glasses appear to be later replacements. The W. O. & P. movement is similar to a Silas B. Terry, but Terry used a different escape bridge on his movements. Ht 32Ó.
Forestville Mfg. Co. (J. C. Brown), Bristol, CT and sold by F. J. Wild, Dundee, Scotland., 30 hours, weight driven, time and strike, movement in a mahogany OG case, c1850.
The case retains a nice finish. The hands are later replacements, The painted dial has minor loss. The decalcomania tablet with ÓView of BostonÒ is original. The movement, while unmarked, is a Forestville Mfg. Co. movement of that period. The excellent overpasted label lists F. J. Wild, 106 Murraygate, Dundee (Scotland) as the importer of American Clocks. A check of the Dundee City Directory of 1846 lists Mr. F. J. WildÕs Clock Business at this address. Ht 25 3/4Ó.

With a brass T & S movement, a wood dial and a good label. (There is minor roughness to the case. The glass has been replaced.) Not tested.

The veneered case retains its original finish with some rough spots. The painted metal dial is original. The hands are original. The two door glasses are original with a nice Fenn stenciled tablet. Ht 233/4"

Rosewood veneered case in an old an possibly original finish with some repairs on the flat outer banding. Original metal dial has been repainted. Original hour hand. Minute hand, while period, is probably a replacement. Time and strike is run off a single spring. Fast/slow hand to regulate the movement is missing. Lower mirror is original. Gilt trim around mirror now gold painted. Nice label inside the case. Ht 38"
