C.1839, French, Henry Banister, Paris, Cathedral form, gilt ormolu clock with signed silk thread susp movement.
Condition: This clocks has suffered some, one spire is missing its screw and is wrapped inside the case; silk tread has broken (easy to replace), and the strike hammer is absent. Gong has been re-positioned, and is screwed to the case itself, and with an additional gilt dust cover to the rear to protect both pendulum and gong. The case itself is also signed Hry. Banister, so we are sure the movement is original. Gilt hands are discolored now, but also original. Has been in storage; will need service. Height 16 inches
C.1850, French, Gilt Bronze mantel clock in the Louis XVI style, 8- day, silk thread suspension, with bell strike, the dial marked HOWELL, A PARIS, the movement marked Vincenti.
Condition: this is an especially well made and attractive clock, with the gilding still bright, and all finials, columns and feet intact. The nice cast dial retains 12 cartouche numerals in good condition, and with original hands. Height 12 inches
C.1890, French, Architectural Table Clock, with nickeled brass trim and a large bell at top, walnut case.
Condition: movement is original and sound however, gong is lacking. 4 feet are lacking, bottom center trim that shows in foto will require the addition of feet to clear the table. Minute hand is lacking, but standard replacements should fit. Note interesting 4 cast sentries above railing, they will be packed inside clock on auction day; one is bent about 15 degrees. Height 24 inches
C.1900, French, cast brass mantel clock, architectural case, 8-day time/strike.
Condition: Case in good condition with some tarnish and oxidized spots. Porcelain signet numbers on the dial are perfect. The hands have surface rust that will need to be addressed. The movement lacks a pendulum and strike bell. Good potential on restoration. Height 18 inches
C.1890 Japy Freres, 8-day time/strike French architectural cast brass mantel clock. The dial is signed with a porcelain insert that reads: ÒPhilippe Ft, 66 Palais Royal 67Ó. The movement is also marked ÒP N a ParisÓ.
Condition: Brass case is in clean condition, but would benefit with a polishing. The porcelain numbers in the dial are perfect and the hands are original. A well made and impressive clock. Height 18.5 inches
C.1890, French, Vincenti and Cie, 8-day time/strike gilt white metal architectural mantel clock.
Condition: Case now repainted with gold paint. The movement is not original to the case as it is a little too large, and does not set into the opening all the way (could be improved with a file). The outer chapter ring has numerous hairline cracks. The inner dial is and beveled glass door are perfect. The hands are original. The glass in the rear door is missing. Height 16.5 inches
Terhune & Botsford, New York, iron front with faux graining, in a cathedral form case.
Full label inside. 8 day movement signed, "New Haven Clock Co. Ct. USA". Strikes a coil gong. Very good condition overall including the mother of pearl, and a central painting showing a seaside town and boats in the harbor. Iron case is 20" high, heavy casting with large feet. The bezel and dial pan have been adjusted slightly on the case to maintain a solid hold.
C.1890, French, Brass Architectural Clock, in good original condition. This is a large, heavy and well detailed case, typical of the fancy designs late in the Victorian era.
Has a good round French bell strike movement with open brocot escapement on the dial; porcelain dial is good-no chips, no cracks. Although the clock does tick and strike, it would benefit from service. Height 20 inches
