Wall School House or Drop Trunk Calendar

Gilbert Manufacturing Co., Winsted, Conn., "Maranville Calendar Clock " 8 days, time and strike spring driven brass movement drop octagon calendar wall clock, c1865 Label states the clock was made for N. C. Hyde & Co., by Gilbert.

Refinished rosewood veneered case with a small chip on one of the octagon segments, a couple chips on the drop box front molding, and a piece missing on the back edge. Original painted dial with scattered paint loss on the raised outer edge. Original hands. Nice label inside the case. Ht 22 1/2"

Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., "Office Drop Calendar", wall clock, 8 days, time and calendar, spring driven movement in a walnut case with burled highlights with a painted zinc dial and silk screened lower tablet, c1885

the case retains its original finish with a horizontal split repair to the top crest. The dials have been repainted. The tablet is original. Although this is similar to Maranville's patent calendar, Gilbert deleted Maranville's patented feature (key advance of the date ring) and manufactured this model without paying Maranville a royalty. Ht 33 1/2"

Walnut and walnut veneered case in an old finish. Original paper dial has age darkened with some surface abrasion and staining. Original hands and pendulum. Nice label inside the case. Overall nice example. Ht 32"

Ansonia Brass and Copper Co., Ansonia, Conn., ÓDrop Extra CalendarÒ wall clock in a rosewood case with a spring driven, 8 days, time and strike, movement with William A. TerryÕs Patent Calendar, c1880.

The case retains its original finish. The painted dial is original with no paint loss. The hands are original The movement is signed. The bezel glass is original as is the lower door tablet. There is one small dented area on the outer right side of the bezel. Overall, a very nice example of this clock. Ht 26Ó.

The case still retains some original finish. The dial pan and paper dial are later replacements. The hands are old, but not original. The bezel glass is absent. The bottom door glass and stenciling are original. Ht 32Ó.
