C.1875, Ithaca Calendar Clock Co., Cottage no. 5 shelf Clock
Variant. This clock is an early transitional model, similar in style to the No. 5, but with the raised walnut panels of the cottage no. 7. This clock was carried here to New Hampshire by a lady in Wellesley, and is in wonderful original condition. Interestingly this clock employs the Boardman and Hubbel double spring time only movement, so it is probably 30 day. This movement also used in the Ithaca iron case calendars (note one bushing has been soldered in place, but as you can see, the dirty movement is fully run down). This movement is illustrated in Ly's yellow calendar book, page 376, and a similar version on page 35, fig-61. Although the paper dials are a bit dark with age, they are original and intact, as are the rollers. Remnants of both labels are legible on the rear. Height 20 inches
