C.1903, Waterbury Clock Co., "Regulator No. 65" in oak
with 2-jar mercury pendulum, and in excellent original condition (except for replaced weight). Note these pinwheel movements are designed to run 8 days on a 5 pound weight, direct drive, and Larry had this one running through a pulley, with a 9no. weight, giving it a 2 week durationĂ– this is easily changed back. The case has been waxed to a lovely sheen; porcelain dial is perfect, beat scale and all case hardware is intact. Best of all is the color, a rich golden oak that is sure to please most collectors. This model is illustrated in Ly's 1989 Waterbury catalog as figure 444 with a value of $5500, and in his latest 2001 book as figure 566, with a value of $10,000, or a little less than 8 percent annual return. In 1903, the mercury pendulum cost an extra $32 and usually rates an extra 5 to 800 in today's market. We have the mercury in a lexan container, and are advised that it is not possible to ship the mercury, so you will need to have the jar picked up in person, or have one of our private carriers deliver it. We expect significant interest in this clock. Height 81 inches
