Dial inscribed "Theodore B. Starr New York." Reference pages 142;143 of Long Case Clocks and Standing Regulators by Tran Duy Ly. Illustrated as 336A,B,C,D. Mahogany case with all over carving including full winged cherubs at corner of front hood, leaf carving at all moldings, carved columns and inset panels, large claw feet. The clock plays Westminster and Whittington chimes on 9 tubes. Beveled glass front door. Three large brass weights with brass pendulum bob. PROV: James J. Hill Estate "Railroad Baron" SIZE: 94" h. Crest that is shown in book is not present. This clock is the finest of it's type that we have had the pleasure to sell. CONDITION: Excellent condition.
